Areas of Expertise
Mood Disorders
Mood disorders can be somewhat difficult to differentiate between at first glance. In some instances more than others, it requires thorough history-taking and a keen eye to know which symptoms may be pointing in the direction of one over the other. If you believe you are struggling with symptoms of a mood disorder, please reach out now, as the outcomes occur with early diagnosis and treatment.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety can present in a multitude of ways...Some obvious, and some not so obvious. Anxiety disorders can range from specific phobias to hypochondiasis, and from generalized anxiety to panic disorder. While some may brush off anxiety as something that everyone has due to normal life stressors, a true anxiety disorder is not just that, and can be quite debilitating. If you think your anxiety may have reached a point where it is interfering with the quality of life you would like to be leading, please contact me so we can see if I may be able to help you.
Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders
Disorders that are obsessive-compulsive in nature can greatly impact one's ability to function day-to-day life. While so many people make jokes about being "OCD", those who suffer with it know its far from a laughing matter. Treating obsessive-compulsive disorders can be challenging, but I promise to do my best to help relieve your suffering. I believe that everyone who struggles with their mental health ought to participate in therapy, however, with these disorders, it is crucial to attend weekly sessions with a clinically trained therapist who is certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, or a psychologist who specializes in CBT and utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities including but not limited to Exposure-Response-Prevention Therapy.
